What if I told you we are on the cusp of innovation that could wipe-out diseases affecting millions of people and millions of animals? It’s not an overstatement to say it has the potential to change how we produce food. I’m just learning about it myself and I’m delighted to share what I’ve learned with you in my latest blog.
Food-industry website FoodDive.com recognized U.S. chicken producer Sanderson Farms as 2017 Food Company of the Year for its principled stance on antibiotic use in poultry production. Sanderson believes using antibiotics when medically necessary benefits food safety and improves animal welfare and environmental sustainability. Sanderson exhibits transparency in agriculture and food production which increases consumer trust and confidence.
Exciting changes are underway in animal agriculture. New methods of caring for and raising animals are being implemented and new animal health and nutrition products are being developed. Together they’re preventing disease, protecting animal health and reducing the need for antibiotics.
